Purpose

To provide scholarships to eligible individuals in pursuit of post high school graduation collegiate or vocational education.

Scholarships

The Essex Troop Memorial Scholarship Program consists of three scholarships. Each scholarship is named for a former member of the 102nd Cavalry Regiment who made a significant impact on the history of the Regiment.

MG DONALD W. McGOWAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000.00) 

Applicant must be a:                                                                                                                                                                            

Member of the Essex Troop in good standing or the applicant must be a spouse, child, or grandchild of a             

member of the Essex Troop in good standing. A member is considered in good standing if they paid his/her    

annual membership dues for the current year and the preceding four years prior to the date of application.

 The spouse, child, or grandchild of a Deceased Member of the Essex Troop are also eligible.

Applicant must demonstrate scholarship, leadership and citizenship.

 1ST LIEUTENANT DANIEL LEE, CMH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000.00)

  Applicant must be a:                                                                                                                                                                            

  Member of the Essex Troop in good standing or the applicant must be a spouse, child, or grandchild of a             

  member of the Essex Troop in good standing. A member is considered in good standing if they paid his/her    

  annual membership dues for the current year and the preceding four years prior to the date of application.

 The spouse, child, or grandchild of a Deceased Member of the Essex Troop are also eligible.

Applicant must demonstrate scholarship, leadership and citizenship.

SERGEANT CURTIS G. CULIN III MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000.00)

  Applicant must be a:

 Member of the Essex Troop in good standing or the applicant must be a spouse, child, or grandchild of a             

 member of the Essex Troop in good standing. A member is considered in good standing if they paid his/her    

 annual membership dues for the current year and the preceding four years prior to the date of application.

 The spouse, child, or grandchild of a Deceased Member of the Essex Troop are also eligible.

Applicant must demonstrate scholarship, leadership and citizenship.

Applications are accepted each year from January 1st to March 31st.
